Bio

I’m Malerie! I was born and raised in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and started my video editing journey at the age of 12 years old, making home videos with my parents video camcorder. My only goal was to pick up the camera, record whatever I wanted and compile all the footage to tell a story.

I started posting these videos online to share with others was when I began getting traction for my video skills, and was asked to make small infomercials for the dance studio I attended, and a few wedding videos as I advanced each year with filming and editing.

I knew, the minute that I held that camera that this was going to be the start to something great for myself.

I decided to take a bold leap, and go for a degree in editing films. I said goodbye to my dear family that I love so so much, and moved to Los Angeles, as cliché as that sounds!

There, I received my BFA in Editing Cinema & Television with Columbia College Hollywood. I worked alongside like-minded people began working to build my skill set and portfolio. I have been in this industry for about 10 years, and find joy in picking up projects for events, weddings, graduation ceremonies, and much more. Being able to create for a community is such a rewarding feeling, that it really doesn’t have a price tag to it.

I have crafted and perfected capturing moments, people, and community throughout all my projects. Whether it be a short film, music video, or event recap. I am fully invested into my work, and my passion seeks through it in my work. Currently, I am in the proccess of finding a job position in the field, but as I search, I am continuing to work on freelance projects, and cannot wait to share with you all what I’ve been working on, soon!
